Adventure City

After social skills class we took Matthew to Adventure City for the day with friends. It was a gorgeous day and we all had a great time. Mark took Matthew for his first roller coaster ride.

He was all smiles when he got on the ride. Then..........
Inspite of the look of complete terror, Matthew loved it and went 3 times by the end of the day. He obviously is not a big chicken like me!

The best part of the day was of course, time spent with our buddies.
Matthew had so much fun and overall, did really well. He had a hard time when we walked into the arcade (way too much noise for him to process) but recovered quickly when we went outside. I was very proud of my little man.

Very special people in my life.

Matthew thoroughly enjoyed himself today and at the end of it, Mark and I got a wonderful treat too...Matthew's first unprompted "why?" question. I told him it that it was time to leave and just before his screaming protest....He said
"Why?"
Yipee! That is something we have been working on and can be difficult for many kids with ASD. Matthew is such a rock star and never ceases to amaze us. Way to go precious, we love you!
